As good communication and coordination is paramount for successful results, the team will work closely with you every step of the way from the initial phone call through to implementation and project delivery.
Whitwam AVI is part of Whitwam Ltd, a company that has traded continuously since 1909. You would be right to question how a company specialising in such a technology-led industry could have been in business for so long. It’s simple; we were there at the start.
Initially, as a retailer of pianos and sheet music, Whitwam Ltd was at the cutting edge of Edwardian reproducing machines, speech and music recordings. From that starting point, it has developed from a retail outlet into what we are now, providing expert and specialist services in three areas: professional audio-visual installations; high-quality video for creative agencies; and creative and technical AV production for live events.
In its purest form, AV Integration describes the design, creation, integration and installation of audiovisual equipment into buildings as an ongoing permanent fixture. Our recent projects cover diverse environments from cathedrals and abbeys, historic and listed buildings to the corporate and public sector, including a secure unit for young people. Each building and location has its unique AV challenges that we aim to resolve, include addressing the detailed requirements of listed building consents to creating operational managed control systems for sophisticated technical equipment. An example historic building project is Winchester Cathedral, a building that dates from the 10th century; the update of its AV system was vital for successful communication with its wide-ranging audience.
We aim to provide uniquely tailored audio-visual solutions that work seamlessly and sympathetically in their environments, from historic to modern. Behind these solutions lies a myriad of inter-linked disciplines including many hours of programming to make all the disparate parts – including video cameras, microphones, speakers, and amplifiers – come together to work as one; sympathetic application of new technologies and the observance of day-to-day necessities; a high level of consideration and attention to detail to every element, including colour matching and re-spraying speakers where required; and custom fabrication of custom speaker brackets to avoid damaging protected structures. We are proud of our achievements and grateful for our clients’ testimonials, and we look forward to continuing to develop our skillsets, experience and enable our clients to maximise their audiovisual experience.
