The Royal Society, London

The Wellcome Trust Lecture Hall at London's Royal Society is a popular venue for meetings, conferences, dinners and receptions, and following a major upgrade of its AV facilities now features a sophisticated audio-visual installation and state-of-the-art webcasting facilities, used to broadcast events to an international audience.

Whitwam AVI designed a touch screen-controlled AV system comprising 4K laser projection, distributed audio with fixed and radio microphones, 4K remote controlled cameras providing recording and webcasting capability, and colour selectable stage lighting. At the Wolfson Library Suite we installed an AV system comprising HD projection, and an audio system with both fixed and radio microphones.

The Kohn Centre benefits from a touch screen-controlled AV system comprising HD LED video display and an audio system with fixed and radio microphones. Three remote controlled HD cameras are installed all operated from a local control room with audio feeds for recording or webcasting.

For the Conference Room we designed a touch screen-controlled AV system consisting of HD laser projection and an audio system with fixed and radio microphones. Discreet suspended tile microphones along with remote controlled HD cameras provide audio and video feeds for Teams and Zoom video conferencing.

The Dining Room, which can be linked to the Wellcome Trust Lecture Hall, features a touch screen-controlled AV system comprising HD laser projection and an audio system with fixed and radio microphones.

Completing the venue-wide upgrade is a desktop wireless conference audio system for the Council Room which can also be used in any space within the building.
